The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Google Nigeria, is offering free online training to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), helping small businesses increase their revenue generation .
Yesterday, NITDA Managing Director/CEO, Kashifu Inuwa, expressed NITDA’s excitement over the partnership with Google Nigeria, which is part of its initiative to build the capacity of one million software developers by the end of 2023.
He said the program will help small businesses grow by increasing revenue, positioning themselves for investment and building sustainable businesses for the future.
Similarly, Brand Reputation Manager, Google Nigeria, Mr. Mojolaoluwa Aderemi-Makinde said, “We are delighted to partner with NITDA to enable MSMEs to plan their digital marketing strategies, create business growth, identify new markets, access financing opportunities. and the success of the pitch.
The MSME sector is a pillar of economic growth and an important provider of employment opportunities in a country.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), SMEs have contributed about 48% to Nigeria’s GDP over the past five years.
However, despite this significant contribution to Nigeria’s economy, challenges persist that hamper the growth and development of the sector.
